This is NOT a request for more Masses to be said by the priests!
It is simply a reminder that it is a laudable Catholic custom to request a particular Mass to be said for such intentions as the repose of a soul, the anniversary of a death, the celebration of a marriage anniversary, birthdays and thanksgiving or any other intention of the donor.
A Mass Card may be sent to others expressing the appropriate sentiments and indicating that a Mass will be said. A Mass Stipend may be given to the priest undertaking the Mass intention. How much is given depends on the means and dispositions of the petitioner- it is usual to give between £5 and £20, BUT
the gift may be less, or indeed simply thanks from a grateful heart.
