Major changes are planned for the Sanctuary area of St Marys Cathedral in Aberdeen. This comprehensive reordering, initiated by Bishop Hugh, includes a San Damiano style hanging cross, repositioning of the Tabernacle and the Bishops chair, and other key items. The first phase of the project involving the fabrication and hanging of the new cross and removal of the existing cross is estimated to cost c£71,000. The project will require significant fundraising and to this end the Diocese is looking for a volunteer to research and coordinate the fundraising effort.
